Keep note of the following points :
The information on the tag is printed. Anything handwritten is not allowed.
The font used in printed information is easily readable.
There should be no overwriting or overlapping on the printed text.
It is advised to have your brand logo to be embossed on the tag, to give it a unique brand value.
The information and the code of conduct mentioned in the Legal metrology act is different for different categories. Guidelines for product labeling in legal metrology act keeps on changing from time to time. So it is advised to keep track of the changes when labeling products.
Packaging
The next step is packing of goods and it also has to be done in two parts:
(a) Packaging of product
(b) Packaging of bulk consignment
A. Packaging of product:
An appropriate Packaging of the product makes sure of moving and storing your products easily within the warehouse. Also it has more benefits like avoiding unnecessary storage charges, decreasing returns and losses. It also helps in increasing your brand value. So while deciding on packaging of your products, make sure that:
Packaging of the goods should be proportionate to the size of product.
Packaging should be very neat. Each product should be in unique, secure packet.
A value pack or a combo of products should be in a single packet.
Keep in mind that your labels on the goods are visible when holding the product with packaging.
If Possible Create a customized packaging for your products to give your clients personalised brand experience.
You should keep in mind to pack all the products carefully with high-quality packaging material. This is important to save them from damage and also increase their shelf-life.
In case of boxes, have openings or a lid that will not easily open on its own. If the box can easily open on its own, then tape, glue, or staples must be used to keep it closed.
B. Packaging of bulk consignment:
After the packing of your products, they need to be packed further for transportation to the warehouse or storage unit.
Each carton or box should be labeled with the detailed description of the contents inside for further assistance.
The packing of the products should be done in such a way that there must be no damage to the goods (even fragile products) during shipping, saving you from the charges of loss and damage.
As your products are getting ready for shipping, create a packing list. It is an important document which will be having the details of the packed products which are as follows.
